A balanced week of learning
Reading, writing and mathematics are central, with time to apply them across the curriculum. Learners investigate scientific questions, use digital tools responsibly, explore people and places, and communicate through art, music and performance.
- English: reading for meaning, vocabulary, writing and confident speaking.
- Mathematics: fluency, problem-solving and explaining a method.
- Science and technology: enquiry, observation and practical design.
- Humanities and citizenship: people, places, culture and responsibility.
- The arts and physical education: expression, coordination and teamwork.
Challenge and support
Teachers check understanding throughout a lesson and adapt tasks where needed. Additional practice, small-group teaching and appropriate challenge help children make the next step. Families are included when a sustained support plan is needed; the admission process discusses requirements rather than promising support that has not been agreed.
Homework with a clear purpose
Home learning may revisit a taught skill, prepare for discussion, encourage reading or extend a project. Instructions and deadlines are shared through the parent portal. Feedback and term conversations focus on progress, learning habits and practical next steps.
